Brief report of the event:
The inaugural program commenced at 9:00 am with an invocation by Dr. Jaseem, post-graduate student from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery which was followed by the welcome address by the Principal Dr. Laxmikantha Chatra. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the reel making and quiz competitions by the Guest of Honour, Dr. B.H Sripathi Rao and Chief Guest Dr. M Vijayakumar. The dignitaries along with the faculty members and post-graduate students of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery cut a cake to celebrate Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Day. The Honorable Vice Chancellor then addressed the gathering regarding the early detection and prevention of oral cancer. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Organizing Chairman Dr. Jagadish Chandra. The program concluded at 10:45am.
On behalf of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons Day the department also organized an inter-college Exhibition Cricket Tournament at the Yenepoya Soccer Ground at 11:00 am.

The finale saw the victory of the YMC staff over the YDC staff and the YDC Womens' team over the YMC Womens' team.
