CONSERVATIVE DENTISTRY & ENDODONTICS
The specialization of Conservative Dentistry deals with the treatment of carious, malformed, fractured or discoloured teeth as well as aesthetic correction of teeth. Endodontics is the branch of dentistry concerning dental pulp tissues within the roots of a tooth. Endodontic treatment, or root canal treatment, treats the soft pulp tissue inside the tooth. The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics caters to a huge patient load and is a primary discipline that is involved in the management of pain by rendering treatment to various dental diseases involving the tooth structure and its associated tissue to restore the form and function of the oral cavity.

The department is well-recognized for its achievements in the field of research, focusing on research-thrust areas like
Incorporating nanotechnology in root canal irrigants
Nanohydroxyapatite on remineralization of early caries lesion
CLINICAL TRAINING AND PATIENT CARE
Undergraduate clinical trainingincludes diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of defects of teeth and the use of the latest esthetic materials like composite materials.
The postgraduate clinical curriculum includes case discussions, Endodontic treatment, Post & core treatment, Regenerative procedures and Endodontic surgeries of permanent teeth using a Dental Operating Microscope. Restoration of teeth using indirect restoration such as Inlay, Onlay, Overlays and Endocrowns. Preparation and restoration of teeth for full coverage crown and veneer. In addition, they have to post in the centre for advanced clinic and peripheral postings where they can treat camp patients. This gives them experience in real clinical setting and enhances their patient management skills.
