Biomaterials and Research Centre

The Department conducts projects by research students from the Yenepoya University and from other universities & colleges in Mangalore and neighboring cities The faculty have applied for various grants to government funding agencies like ICMR, DST , VGST and also applied for Centre for Excellence. The department has initiated MOU 's with other institutes like Mangalore University , MIT and NITK for advanced research collaboration.

The department has the following equipment’s -

  • Universal testing machine - Testing of compressive strength, tensile strength and shear strength. (Board of research in nuclear sciences – BRNS grant no: 34(1)/14/36/2014)
  • Micro Vickers hardness tester - (Board of research in nuclear sciences – BRNS grant no: 34(1)/14/36/2014)
  • Humidity cabinet – environmental test chamber.
  • PH meter
  • Travelling microscope
  • Magnetic stirrer
