Clear aligners or invisible braces are a state-of-art alternative to traditional braces which gained its popularity in recent years because of increased public awareness on esthetic treatment approach to correct malocclusions.

This certificate course is designed to provide an in-depth knowledge on case selection, treatment planning, and understanding of simple and complex biomechanics of clear aligners.

The clinical training in this area of specialization is still not included in the curriculum of postgraduate programs; therefore this course is aimed to help the postgraduate to learn the clinical skills needed to integrate clear aligners in their orthodontic practice.

This comprehensive clear aligner program focuses on streamlining clinician’s skill in diagnosing, planning and management of malocclusion with aligner mechanotherapy. Upon completion of this program, the clinician will be able to identify suitable cases fit for aligner treatment and would have the basic clinical skills to treat aligner cases.

To help the participants to effectively incorporate clear aligner in theirdental practice.
Rational creation of overall treatment plans in relation to clear aligners.

- First and second module of 2 days each
- Third and fourth module of 1 day each spread over 1 year
20 hour soft theory
6 hours of hands on training
6 hours of clinical training

Introduction to aligners, biomechanics of clear aligner treatment
Record making and clinical photography
Case selection for clinical success
Introduction to Intraoral scanning and hands-on
Understanding complex aligner situations and treatment protocols
Introduction to engagers
Interproximal reduction (IPR) methods & techniques
Basic Trouble shooting &how to identify off-tracking of aligners
Challenges faced and trouble shooting in aligner mechanics

ELIGIBILITY

Orthodontists and post graduate students in the specialty of orthodontics and Dentofacial orthopedics

COURSE FEE

Rs. 40,000/- Participants will be provided with a course kit that includes the following: IPR Kit, IPR Gauge, Composites (flowable/packable), Typodont Teeth Models/3DPrinted Models, Engager Template, Aligner Samples, Patient education materials

Course kit – provided by the company free of cost

Set of aligners for the patients as per the case requirement. The cost of aligners will be charged to the patients/participant or may be shared by them

The total cost will be invoiced to the university and payment to the company will be done by the university

The light cure units, intra oral scanner will be provided by the department/dental college.
