Continuing Dental Education - Graft in type 1 implant placement

EVENT REPORT

A Continuing Dental Education (CDE) program was held on 23гd, December 2024 at Department of Prosthodontics, Crown and Bridge, Yenepoya Dental College, Mangalore. The program began at 9:00 am.

The resource person was Dr. Rakshith Hegde, Professor, Department of Prosthodontics from A. B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences,Mangalore who spoke on the topic To Graft or not -in type 1 implant placement.

The welcome address was given by the Head of the Department Dr. Rajesh Shetty. Lighting of the lamp was done. The masters of ceremony were Dr. Fowzan and Dr. Fahad. Dr. Mallikarjuna Ragher introduced the resource person, Dr. Rakshith Hegde. Dr. Karkala Suhaim Sayed the organising chairman, gave an overview of the CDE program. The principal, Dr.LaxmikanthChatra delivered the presidential address.Dr. Kevin Fernandes, the organizing secretary, delivered the vote of thanks.

The program proceeded in two sessions. The first was lecture where the first topic was "Anatomical and bone remodelling considerations affecting treatment outcomes" and the second topic was "Do we always need to graft in type 1 implant placement". This was followed by a live demo by Dr. Rakshith Hegde in the department of Oral implantology on type 1 implant placement.

The session was attended by staff and postgraduates of Yenepoya Dental College and neighbouring dental colleges. The session continued until 2:00 pm.
