Oral hygiene day celebrated on 1st August 2024

The Oral hygiene day was celebrated on 1 st August 2024 by the department of Periodontology, Yenepoya Dental College, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr G B Shankwalkar. We conducted competitions a week before the oral hygiene day namely Collage, Quiz and E- Poster for the undergraduates, Interns and postgraduates of Yenepoya Dental College. A total 62 of students participated in the competitive events. The events were judged by the faculty. Certificates and cash prizes were distributed to winners.

The program started with a welcome address by the Head of the Department, Dr Rajesh K.S., The Principal of Yenepoya Dental College, Dr Laxmikanth Chatra presided over the programme Dr. David Kadakampally Associate Professor, Department of Periodontology, MCODS Mangalore. was invited as the Resource Person. Dr Vinita Boloor, Additional Professor introduced the Resource Person, and Dr Sruthy Prathap, Additional Professor, delivered the vote of thanks. The Dean, Dr Sham S Bhat, the faculty, undergraduates and postgraduates students of the Yenepoya Dental College were present on the occasion.

The inaugural program was followed by a guest talk on the topic "ORAL HEALTH FOR OVERALL HEALTH" delivered by Dr. David Kadakampally A total of 111 participants including faculty and students attended the lecture.
