Brief Report of the Event:
The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology organized a Continuing Dental Education (CDE) Programme by Dr. Ajay Nayak on the topic "Revealing the Hidden: CBCT in Temporomandibular Joint Assessment" on 8th November 2025 at Yenepoya Dental College, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mangalore.

The event witnessed the participation of 103 delegates. Dr. Veena K. M., Professor and Head, Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, welcomed all the dignitaries and delegates and highlighted the significance of the topic chosen for the CDE programme. The Chief Guest, Dr. Sham S. Bhat, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and technological advancements in dental imaging. The Presiding Officer, Dr. Laxmikanth Chatra, Principal, Yenepoya Dental College, delivered the presidential address, commending the department's efforts in organizing a scientifically enriching session. The Organising Secretary, Dr. Deepthi Adappa, proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme aimed to enhance the understanding of dental professionals regarding the advanced applications of Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) in the assessment of the Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ), emphasizing the pivotal role of imaging technologies in improving diagnostic accuracy and treatment outcomes.

Dr. Ajay Nayak delivered an in-depth lecture that included the critical evaluation of TMJ using CBCT, an introduction to a new classification system for TMJ imaging diagnosis, and insights into how these advancements have improved clinical outcomes and treatment precision.

The session concluded at 12:30 PM, leaving participants with valuable insights into the evolving role of CBCT in oral and maxillofacial diagnostics.
