Brief report of the event

\r\n

The conference, held from November 22-24, 2024, at Yenepoya University and Indiana Convention Centre, brought together experts in Oral Medicine and Radiology to discuss advancements and challenges in the field. Dr. Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, Hon Chancellor of Yenepoya University, inaugurated the event, with Dr. Pratima Murthy delivering the keynote on \"National Road Map for Tobacco Cessation.\" On Day 2, keynote addresses by Dr. Hemlata Pandey Gala, Dr. M. Vijayakumar, and Dr. N.K. Jayapalan focused on topics such as oral cancer, CBCT technology, and radiology regulations. A panel discussion on CBCT management followed, with a special Annual General Body Meeting to discuss future IAOMR plans.

Day 3 featured 85 poster presentations, showcasing innovative research. Keynote speeches were delivered by Dr. Ashok Shenoy and Dr. Sanjay Mallya on ethical issues in clinical trials and multi-modality imaging. A significant achievement was the presentation of the Indian Consensus on diagnosis and management of Oral Lichen Planus (INCORP), developed through a collaborative multidisciplinary effort.

The conference also highlighted 186 faculty and 284 postgraduate paper presentations, along with discussions on competency-based education and tobacco cessation strategies. The event fostered significant knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration, culminating in Dr. Prashanth Shenoy\'s election as President-Elect of IAOMR.
