Tobacco Cessation Centre,Yenepoya Dental College

The Tobacco Cessation Centre, Yenepoya Dental College, in association with the Youth Red Cross (YDC Unit) and the Satellite Unit of the Centre for Substance Abuse Prevention, organized a week-long program commemorating World No Tobacco Day 2026. The theme for this year was "Unmasking the Appeal - Countering Nicotine and Tobacco Addiction." The culminating event was held on 02nd June 2026 at 09:30 AM at the Front Entrance of Yenepoya Dental College.

The inaugural ceremony featured the launch of an "Anti-Tobacco Pledge Wall," where students, faculty (teaching as well as non teaching), pledged their commitment to a tobacco-free life. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Laxmikanth Chatra, Principal, Yenepoya Dental College, accompanied by Dr. Sham S Bhat, Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, YDC.

Throughout the week, activities included awareness talks on the ill effects of tobacco and nicotine addiction, interactive sessions on tobacco cessation strategies, and patient counseling at the Tobacco Cessation Centre.
